Direct replacement for Stag BW35 & BW65 Automatic Gearboxes.
Overall gear ratio similar to Stag manual box.
Final drive ratio is 0.75, same as manual in overdrive.
Improved economy and performance.
No body mods necessary, bolts straight on.

Everything you need to do the job provided with the kit including instructions, new speedo cable with correctly calibrated drive, new shorter propshaft and all nuts and bolts needed to do the job.

For Rover engines you will need to get yourself from a range Rover breaker (see 4X4 Mart magazine) a late Range Rover (post 1985) Auto Bellhousing and Torque Converter, Drive Plate complete with the spacers and washers etc. that bolt onto the torque converter. Also get the rear mounting plate, but it will have to be modified to fit the Stag. You will also have to measure the flange-to-flange distance exactly when the whole installation is complete so that I can order you a propshaft of the correct length. This will cost you £165 inc. VAT for the standard U/J bearings or £185 inc. for the heavy duty bearings or £275 for a 3.5" up-rated shaft which I recommend for the more powerful engines (standard dia. is 3"). As the Rover kit doesn't include the Rover parts described above and you will have to get them yourself, this kit is £250 cheaper, at only £1600 inc. VAT (delivery £25 extra).

We can fit the Stag kit for £300 incl. oil, (no VAT). For the Rover installation please request a quote and we may be able to get the parts too, but it will be more.

Here's what one satisfied customer had to say about this kit:

"Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for your e mail and interest - I haven't used the Stag a great deal so far, but this conversion has transformed it. I had seriously considered changing the Stag for an XJS convertible because I was very disappointed with the high revving engine and actually went back to Cherished Classics to look at one, but whilst there was talked into keeping it and having the conversion done. I drove home from Clive's which took about two hours and soon realised what a difference it had made. It is so much more pleasant to drive and more relaxing. Clive's service was superb and I will be e mailing him to thank him.
All the best
Bernard and Joyce."
